last sunny day (for a while)
George and Lila, I took you out to the park this morning as I knew it was our last day of sunshine for a while. As I could have predicted, you chose Blue Mountain Park. It’s your favorite.
George, you brought your scooter and zipped around the little paths there. You had changed into a “handsome shirt” before we left, and you felt like a million bucks.
Lila, you’re ready to remove your training wheels. I was watching you ride, and I’ve got the wheels up as high as they can go, and they rarely touch the ground. I’m going to take you out next time we have a sunny day and teach you how to ride.
Lila, I loved your solution to riding a bike in a dress. You gathered it up like a ponytail and held it with an elastic. Good thinking kid.
Lila, you fell and scraped your knee. You sat and cried for a few seconds, then told me you were just going to wipe it on the wet grass and it would be ok.
Katie and Jane, daddy and I changed the wifi password this morning. We’re having a family detox from electronics. Amazingly, we all figured out how to fill our day without the aid of Youtube and Instagram.
Katie, you offered to do Lila’s makeup, then she offered to do yours…and George’s. It was pretty fun to watch. Lila, you really took your job seriously. And everyone actually looked pretty good when you were done.
I have been suffering from a crazy tooth ache lately. I went to the dentist, and they assure me my tooth is just fine, so it must be a sinus thing. I’m going to have to see Dr. Chang this week because I can’t stand it anymore. I had to have two naps today to be able to manage the headache that accompanies it.
