little lady in the woods

• Jane, we went to your school this morning to pick up your report card.  You predicted your grades exactly.  Nice work this semester!
• We stopped at Mundy Park on our way home to go for a walk.  There were lots of frogs in the lake today.  Lila and George, you kept asking Jane to catch them for you.  Jane is the right person to ask.  It seems as though she can catch almost anything with her bare hands
• George, the huckleberries are out and you gorged yourself on them.  You kept going missing, and then we'd find you over eating berries again
• Lila, your new sun hat is adorable.  You saw it at the store when we were in Kamloops and begged for it.  How could I say no?  You look like a tiny movie star
• George, you asked me to take pictures of all your ninja moves.  The sound effects you make to go along with them are super impressive.  You make me laugh
• We had corn on the cob for dinner.  Lila, you insisted on shucking the corn.  You were really careful to get all the silk off.  George helped for about two seconds, then got bored and left, but you stayed out on the deck quietly working until it was finished
• Auntie Georgia came for a movie date tonight.  We hadn't gone shopping yet after coming home from Calgary, so it was a really funny dinner.  A bunch of stuff I scrounged from the freezer.  Auntie Georgia said they always called that a bitty dinner...a little bit of this and a little bit of that
• Auntie Georgia brought drinks.  She got a selection of juices, so we had a tasting before making our choices.  We watched The Peanuts Movie.  Very cute.  Everyone enjoyed it
• George, you were sitting beside Auntie Georgia and let out a huge fart.  You thought you were so funny, and then fully enjoyed her tickling you in revenge for stinking up the place
