sunset soccer
  • George and Lila, you play Minecraft “together.” Actually, George, you hold the controller and Lila bosses you around and tells you what to do. I don’t know why she doesn’t play, and I also can’t figure out why you listen to her, but you both seem to be very happy with this system.

  • Katie, you needed new cleats. We went down to Soccer XPress to take a look. I almost fainted at the prices. You tried on a bunch of styles and we couldn’t find one that fit just right. As a last resort, we went over to the kids section, and miracle of all miracles, they had the EXACT ones you liked over there, and they fit you perfectly AND they were $130 less. I was happy. You were ecstatic. It was a good ending to a long cleat shopping excursion.

  • George, you are a mess today. The combination of Halloween, lots of excitement, too much candy, too many late nights AND the time change has not been great. I feel bad for you. You’re such an enthusiastic little guy and it’s sad to see you moping about.

  • Lila, you’ve been dying to go to the Spirit of Halloween store since it opened this fall. We finally made the trip today. You brought your little container of coins with you so you could pick out whatever you wanted. You settled on some rainbow kitty ears that came with a tail and a collar with a bell. You look so cute! You’re extremely proud of the fact that you paid for it all by yourself

  • Katie, you had soccer at 4:00. The sunset was gorgeous. I was completely distracted by it. You got a foul for getting your elbows up too high. You girls are getting more and more physical every game. It’s kind of fascinating to see because you’re all so nice and friendly off the field, but when you’re playing, all bets are off.

  • We were all hungry and cold and tired when we got home from soccer, so it was Pizza Hut to the rescue. George, you had a bath when we got home to warm up a bit, but when you smelled the pizza, you came down and didn’t waste any time with getting dressed and such.

  • Ian, you’re working on a new song on the piano. It sounds like the next HBO Series theme song. You’re pretty pleased with yourself.
