  • I woke up late this morning, but luckily the kitchen hadn't closed yet.  Grandpa made me a Jimmy Special.  They always taste better when he makes them.
  • There were four deer in the front yard this morning.  They didn't seem too concerned with our presence.
  • George and Lila, daddy took you down to the lake to play some hockey.  There was snow on the rink, so you cleared it, then got down to business.  George,  before we left home you told dad, "I need to leawn how to skate fow weaw (for real) because I can't even stand up."  You did pretty good.  You can shoot the puck and remain standing, so that's an improvement.  You can shuffle around a tiny bit, but prefer to hang onto the chair for support.
  • It was pretty cold out.  Minus 20 again, but you stayed out for quite a while.  It helped that it wasn't windy at all.
  • My cough isn't getting better.  I feel so low on energy, like I could sleep 24 hours a day and still not get enough.  I couldn't stay outside for long because the cold really bothers my chest.
  • I went on a little car ride with grandpa to do his route to pick up his precious farm fresh eggs.  We went to two farms and got two dozen at each place.  Maybe his eggs are the secret to his Jimmy Specials.
  • Auntie Becca and family arrived this evening.  It was so fun to see them all again. The noise level increased dramatically with their arrival, as did the laughter and the fun.   You kids get along so well.  It's nice that they have a couple older kids and a younger one as well.
