  • George and Lila, you helped grandma harvest the parsley this morning.  Grandma loves her plants.  She loves drying her herbs and preserving anything she can for the winter.  George, you were eating the parsley stems after grandma removed the leaves.  You ate so much!
  • Sometimes I take photos of things that mean a lot to me, but I never share them because I don't think people will "get" them, or they'll think they're stupid.  This morning I took a photo of the sun shining through the window in the bathroom downstairs.  It's such a familiar sight to me, and I want to remember it.  I've always thought those little curtains were cute, and they've been hanging crooked like that for years.
  • There are always plenty of farm fresh eggs at grandma and grandpa's house.  Grandpa makes an egg sandwich every single morning for breakfast.  When I'm here, I always order a "Jimmy Special."  They always taste better when grandpa makes them.
  • Grandpa had cataract surgery and now he can see without glasses.  I've never really seen him without glasses, so it's kind of weird.  He looks like he's missing part of his face.
  • We all went into town to go to the park and see the falls.  Belle came with us and you guys were so excited to have her sitting in the back seat with you.  She's such a cute doggy.
  • Going to the Falls was fun.  You guys are always up for a walk in the forest to see something new. It's one thing I really love about you.
  • Jane, after the Falls, we went to the swimming hole in the park.  You were the only one brave enough to swim.  It was soooooo cold!  The fish were nibbling on you, and so you stayed as still as you could and let them.  You were in there for more than half an hour without moving.  By the time you got out, you pretty much had hypothermia.  You could barely walk, you silly girl.  You guys caught a frog, and tried to catch a snake that kept teasing us and slithering past us.
  • There were so many butterflies on the thistle flowers.  So pretty!!!  I couldn't stop taking photos of them.
  • After the park, we went to the pet store to get grandma a new beta fish.  Her last fish lived for seven years!  That's a really long time.  She got a pretty blue guy and named him Phil.  He's so pretty.  There was a bunny at the pet store.  We all fell head over heels in love.  It was so sweet and so soft and incredibly cute.  Too bad our condo can really only handle one pet at a time.
  • Daddy and I went on a date tonight to the Iron Horse in Lone Butte.  I had frychos (nachos with fries instead of chips).  Oh. My. Gosh.  So delicious.  I want to take you guys there on Sunday so you can try them.  We drank beer and talked and talked and talked.  There have been a few things happening in the last couple days that we have needed to talk to each other about, but just couldn't find the time to do when everyone was around.
