magical
  • The sun was back today.  I know it's May, and this is "normal", but we've had such crazy weather this year, it's worth mentioning.  Katie, we all went to watch your soccer game up at Heritage Mountain this afternoon.  It was beautiful up there.  Your team got beaten...badly.  I think the final score was 8-0.  Scores don't seem to affect you very much.  You're just happy to be with your friends playing
  • George and Lila, you ate your lunch on the field.  You're always so good about being dragged around to different events.  You handle it like pros
  • After the game, Katie, you were so funny with George.  Chasing him and teasing him.  He couldn't stop laughing and you two were having the best time
  • When we got home, I had a nap.  It was glorious.  I'm not usually able to nap, so it was really awesome
  • After my nap, daddy and I went for our pho date.  We talked about how we're going to get me better.  I'm going to work on being gentler with myself.  Letting some things go so that I can fit in some rest.  I'm really tired.  I'm pretty sure I have strep again (third time in a month!!) and I'm sick of being sick.  Something has to change.  I had to make the decision to show a video at my camera club instead of writing a presentation.  That was hard for me.  I feel pretty driven to provide good materials at our meetings.  I hate letting people down.  I had to cancel a bunch of arranged photo sessions with kids playing their sports because I just can't manage it right now.  It's hard on my pride to admit I can't do everything, but I'm slowly learning that I have to take care of myself, otherwise I'm no good to anyone
  • Lila, I took you for a few minutes to Riverview so I could do my homework for my camera club.  We had to make a 60 second film.  The weather was amazing.  You were adorable.  The setting was incredible.  I wasn't totally on my game, but it didn't even matter because you, my dear, are pure magic
