  • Today I was consumed with my most dreaded mom job...sorting through clothes and switching out sizes and seasons.  I don't know why I hate it so much, but I do. I am, however, incredibly grateful to Auntie Cindy, our neighbor Christine, Kim (who works with daddy) and a lady I ran into a wrestling meet one day.  They give us clothes that their kids have outgrown.  They have been such a blessing to our family.  I am filled with gratitude every time I open the box of clothes in the next size.  I'm more than delighted to pass on the kindness and give clothes to our neighbor who has a little guy a couple years younger than George, and a family member of a friend who has a couple little girls younger than Lila.
  • It took me all afternoon and evening to get everything organized and into your new wardrobe.  I'm pleased with how well the wardrobe works (thanks Elaan!).
  • I'm so hot and sweaty all the time.  I'm tired of the heat and the smoke and the humidity.  I don't think I've even taken any photos of the smoke because I hate it so much.  My throat hurts and my head aches.  I'm a tiny bit grouchy.
  • Katie, you got the final installment of your birthday celebration today.  You wanted to have a massage, so I made an appointment with Veronica for you.  You loved it.  You said you were so relaxed that you fell asleep.
  • Katie, I have to say I'm so impressed with the progress you've made with anxiety and new situations.  As we drove to the massage, you said, "Ok mom.  Walk me through a massage.  I want to know what to expect."  Wow.  That's a major step for you!  Yay Katie Bean!!!!!  It's ok to be scared or nervous of new situations.  But admitting it and talking about it usually takes all that away.  You go girl!
  • George, you rediscovered your green dress when I was going through your clothes.  You fell in love all over again.  You wore it all day, and even asked to put it back on after your bath.  You love it so much.  I'd love to know what you like so much about it.  Interestingly though, when daddy took you out for a walk in the forest, you asked to change out of it, then put it right back on when you got home.
  • George and Lila, daddy took you to the forest for a couple hours this afternoon.  You returned just before dinner...so dirty...and so happy.  You love being outside.
  • Jane, you're on day three of the sleepover extravaganza.  You and Tia are having a really good time.  I find it funny how I have started to treat Tia like one of my kids.  I order her around and chit chat with her and tuck her in at night.  Daddy and I were even bickering in front of her without any reservation.  Lol.  You've found a great friend.  I'm really happy for you.
