welcome to kindergarten!

welcome to kindergarten!
  • Georgie, you went to the Welcome to Kindergarten event this morning.  You were a tiny bit nervous, but quickly got into it and had the time of your life.   You made a crown and wrote your name on it.  You were super proud of that.  I'm so glad we've been doing your "leawning" the last few weeks.  You also matched magnetic letters on a large sheet of paper, had a story, played with play dough and had a snack. When we left, they gave you a bag full of goodies for the summer.  You couldn't believe your good luck.  You look silly in this photo, but it was just bright outside and you were having trouble keeping your eyes open!
  • Lila, while George was at school, you were at Auntie Georgia's.  It was your first time being there without George, and you were very nervous.  You had a few tears when we left, but Auntie Georgia said you were fine two minutes later.  When we came to pick you up, you were all smiles and told me you had SO MUCH FUN!  As we drove back to your school to drop you off, you told me many times (in a slightly surprised tone) that you really had a good time, and now you know it's not too scary.  Phew.  I'm so relieved.
  • Georgie, you played at the school with Lila's class for a while.  You got so dirty in the forest, that I had to give you another bath (you had one this morning!)
  • George, you had an appointment this afternoon to get your kindergarten shots.  Actually, you had an appointment on Monday that I totally forgot about.  I rescheduled it for today.  I was busy making lunch and looked at the clock and realized I had forgotten your appointment again!  I called Dr. Chang and apologized profusely.  He told me to come in anyway, and gave you your shots on his lunch break.  He's so kind to us.  You handled them like a champ.  Such a brave little guy!
  • Lila, Auntie Georgia gave you the most fantastic outfit for your birthday.  Of course, you wore it today, and it really is amazing.  She said she saw it online a couple months ago and immediately knew it was made for you.  The rainbow tutu screams "Lila."
  • George, after dinner, you asked me to clear the table because you had a lot of work to do.  You got your letter sheet and magnetic letters out, sat down, and got to work.  You were very serious. I'm surprised to see that you know all your letters and the sounds they make.  God bless www.starfall.com!
  • Katie, you had soccer academy tonight.  Daddy drives you on Thursdays and I drive you on Tuesdays.  You said you like academy.  You're learning footwork, which you find challenging.  I asked you why you don't practice at home, and you told me you don't have a soccer ball.  Whaaaaaaaaat?  Oh my gosh.  I guess that's true.  Lol.  I suppose we should get you one!
  • Jane, Lila slept with you last night, and you had the audacity to wake her up this morning for school.  She wasn't pleased.  She has sworn off sleeping with you for all eternity.
