happy birthday georgie!

happy birthday georgie!
  • George, we celebrated your fourth birthday today.  Your real birthday is still a couple days away.  We invited Uncle Mark, Auntie Cindy, Mallory and Spencer, Auntie Jenny, Keegan and Jack, and Auntie Georgia.  Your menu was quite sensible and a little unusual for a four year old.  You wanted wraps with cream cheese and ham, black bean soup, and veggies.  For your cake, I made pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing.  So good.
  • We had fun celebrating you.  You're such a great little guy.  You enjoyed every minute of it.  For your presents, I had ordered a whole bunch of Lego mini figures, which I divided up amongst all the guests so that every one gave you a few.  You were over the moon.  Couldn't believe your eyes.  Speechless.  It was pretty cute.
  • Daddy got you a Batman hoodie, and coincidentally, Jack has the exact same one.  You were delighted to be little twinsies.
  • We went and watched daddy play hockey after the party.  He always likes it when we come, and I can tell he tries to show off a bit.
  • Auntie Cindy brought over clothes for Lila.  Lila went through them and made a huge mess.  I jokingly told Jack to fold them...and then he did!  He did an amazing job.  I might keep that kid around!
  • Daddy was showing you guys KISS videos.  The looks on your faces when it got to the blood spitting was pretty hilarious.  None of us can quite figure out why daddy loves them so much, but he certainly does.
  • George, as I was tucking you in, you put your little hands on my cheeks, looked deep into my eyes and said, "Thank you for my birthday, mom."  OMG.  Heart melted.  You're so sweet sometimes it hurts.  You loved your birthday party.  It was pretty lame by modern standards, but it had everything you love.  Your favorite people, your favorite food and you got the present you've been wanting for so long.
