  • Jane. Wow. I had no idea you had it in you, but when you’re motivated, you’re MOTIVATED! You really wanted to get back for Zack’s family’s Christmas dinner this evening, so you totally took charge of getting our family packed up and loaded in the van. We left grandma and grandpa’s around 11am which must be a record for us.

  • We stopped in at Smitty’s for our traditional lunch. Katie, you were having a hard time, and when your soup arrived with pasta instead of rice, you burst into tears. Lila, you were hilarious. You kept looking at her, trying to figure out what exactly was going on. Poor Katie. I felt so bad for you…and then I took a photo. Crazy mommy. But it was such a sweet little moment…I couldn’t help myself.

  • The trip back was very quiet. It always is. Everyone was tired and had had enough of visiting. Especially when we all know it’s going to start all over again in a couple days. The sun came out for a while and shone on the tops of the snowy hills. It was quite beautiful.

  • Jane, you made it to your dinner on time. In fact, you were the first guest to arrive. You were very relieved. I was shocked. Who knew the Newbery’s could get so much accomplished so early in the day?
