  • Today was an interesting day. I worked and came home at 2:30. When I walked in the door, Auntie Jenny was coming down the stairs and when I saw her, I thought someone had died. She told me that Zeus was missing and everyone had been looking for a couple hours with no results. Oh my gosh!!! What!!! My precious grandson!

  • Jane, you were so sad. I decided to take an organized approach to searching. We pulled your room apart and checked it from top to bottom. Nothing. We checked the front closet next. Nothing. Then the coat closet. Nothing. Kitchen. Nothing. Living room. Nothing. Oh my goodness.

  • I had to leave for a few minutes to see Dr. Chang, but when I came back, our company had arrived, and Zeus was still MIA. I decided we needed to look outside. It was pouring rain and dark, but I was on a mission. Don’t mess with grandma Missy. We looked everywhere in our yard, but there were just so many places that little guy could be. We went to the neighbors yards and nearly got reported to the police, but hey…it was worth it.

  • While we were out searching, our guests arrived. Uncle John and Aunt Janice, Aunt Rose, Bev and Gary. Good thing grandma and auntie Shari and Jenny were here to host them!

  • Jane, we came back home. Zack was here to help. You decided to take a break. I came to talk to you in your room and told you that I was going to keep on looking. I decided to start in your room again. I went through your closet, then opened your drawers…and what do you know? That little bugger was laying there fast asleep on top of a shirt in your drawer. Whaaaaaat? Everyone had already looked in that drawer. Oh my goodness. Jane, you burst into tears. Zack exclaimed, “Zeus, you’re a dick!!!!” and I said a choice word or two myself. We all had a little cry and a big hug. Jane, you decided to stay in your room and recover for a bit, and I went out to finally greet our company.

  • I love these people! From day one, they’ve been warm and welcoming and kind and interesting. I can’t believe I’d known them for almost 25 years now. Gary is a bus driver now, and he told us the most interesting stories. I love me a good story. Uncle John told stories about his parents (grandma Esther’s grandparents). It was so fun to hear of the adventures.

  • Daddy totally took care of all the cleaning and cooking today. He made a huge pot of chili and garlic toast. It was delicious. I’m grateful for him.
