where's daddy?

where's daddy?
  • Georgie, you and I had a busy day today.  We dropped the girls off at school, then went to Starbucks for coffee and hot chocolate while we killed a little bit of time before going to daddy's school.  You're a great date.
  • Daddy's music class was doing their flash mob.  We've gone to watch all but two of them over the years.  George, you were pretty cute trying to spy into the room to see daddy.  One of the kids saw  you and yelled out, "Hey, it's the Newbery kid!"  So funny.  This term they performed Believer by Imagine Dragons.  They did a super job.  The drummers were especially good.
  • George, you looked like a little hipster in your all black outfit and boots and hat.
  • We went home for a quick lunch, then headed to Katie's school to pick her up to go to the afternoon performance of Lila's Christmas Concert.
  • Lila, you were so excited to see us as you entered the gym.  Your principal gave all the parents an opportunity to take photos before the concert started, then I put my camera away and just enjoyed it.  You were adorable.  You sang and did all your moves with your little Lila flair.
  • George, in the middle of the concert, you said (in your loudest, most Georgie voice) "this is booooooowing" and proceeded to fake snore super loud.  I couldn't stop giggling.  It was so bad.
  • Katie, we went to Lila's class after the concert.  Most of the kids left, but Lila wanted to stay, so we stayed with her.  All the girls gathered around you like you were a rock star.  Teenager sisters are a hot commodity in a kindergarten class!  Lila's teacher gave you and George an orange and a candy cane, then we settled in to do some coloring and puzzles.
  • Jane, you and daddy went to the evening performance.  We only got four tickets.  Two for the afternoon and two for the evening.  We had to smuggle George into the afternoon performance.  You told me that Lila was super cute (the cutest kid there!) and towards the end, she started to get pretty silly and fool around and giggle with her friend Troy.
  • Lila, as I tucked you in, you asked "Who thought of doing a Christmas concert?  It was a bad idea.  I felt so bored and sleepy."
