snack machines

snack machines
  • Katie, your choir was performing at Granville Island, so Georgie and I made the trip down there to watch.  It was so cold and rainy and windy.  I was not prepared for the weather...and neither were you guys.  The music stands were blowing over and percussion instruments were flying.  Your teacher decided to shut it down rather quickly.  You half heartedly sang one piece, then wrapped things up.  I was so disappointed I couldn't hear you sing more.  Oh well...there's always the end of the year concert.
  • George, you were somewhat wild while we were down there.  Non stop movement.  You and your Sweetheart were a blur of motion.  You were sad there weren't many birds to chase.  They must have been hiding from the storm.
  • George, you asked if I could buy you a snack at the snack machines.  I was looking around for vending machines but couldn't see any.  You dragged me over to the garbage/recycling bins.   When I saw the illustrations on the bins it all became clear.  You thought these were the machines where you could buy pop, apples and chips.  It actually makes a lot of sense.  I can see why you thought that.
  • Jane, we got to pick Tia up after school today.  She had been on a four day camping trip.  Her dad is out of town and her mom was in meetings downtown.  She had all her gear with her, so she couldn't take the bus home.  She came back to our place, had a shower, then volunteered to sit for portraits so I could do some experimenting for my camera club on Tuesday.
