rock and roll all nite

rock and roll all nite
  • I photographed a couple people today in preparation for my camera club meeting on Tuesday.  I set everything up down in the party room.  George and Lila, you came down to help me.  You just love being down there.
  • George, as soon as I got the light stands and tripod out, you started to sing KISS.  You put on quite the performance.
  • I had a massage this afternoon.  It was heavenly.  Massages are one thing that I do for myself for the simple reason that I like them.  I don't really have any issues with my body, but I sure do appreciate the relaxation.  And I really like my therapist as well.  We have great conversations about all kinds of things.
  • I photographed daddy's colleague Elaan, as well as our neighbor Jill.  They were both so helpful to me.  My goals for my camera club are to be able to teach them two simple poses, and how to make a connection with their subject.  The posing is fairly simple to teach, but the ability to capture a true connection is really tricky.  I'm trying to observe myself and what I say and do with each person, then ask them specific feedback questions at the end of their session.  I really enjoy being one on one with people and my camera.  There's some kind of magic that happens when a person trusts me enough to drop their public facade and let me in, even if it's just for a split second.
